Elsabi Microfinance Institution Share Company (EMFISC) is incorporated as a company limited by shares and given a license by the National Bank of Ethiopia to operate as an MFI on June 8, 2022, with a mission to provide effective and efficient financial and related service to the unbanked micro and small enterprises, farmers with a focus on women and youth in urban and rural settings using state of the art technology and qualified and motivated staff in socially responsible ways.
ELSABI Microfinance Institution S.C. is an initiative of visionary Ethiopian nationals with solid entrepreneurial and private sector experience. The promoters desire to make use of this business opportunity and contribute their part in improving existing microfinance service provision on the one hand and augment the country’s economic development and employment creation.
The envisioned institution is destined to be the leading financial service provider, particularly to the unbanked segment of society, in particular, using state-of-the-art technologies. In addition, the promoters already secured the consent of emerging professionals in the field of information technology to be shareholders and conceptualize advanced microfinance service provision by developing cutting-edge ELSABI technology.
